FireChaser Express coming March 2014 to Dollywood Theme Park, nation's first Dual Launch, forward and backward, Animated Roller Coaster.
The coaster ride's animation puts viewers in the front seat as the coaster leaves the loading station. The coaster will travel from 0 to 16 mph in just 1.1 seconds with a 79-foot lift propelling FireChaser Express through a “trick track” where the passenger train twists side to side. Riders encounter two helices and six “airtime” moments on the 2 minutes 19 seconds ride covering just over 2,427 feet of winding track.
At this point one may be fooled into thinking the Dollywood coaster ride is done, hold on folks for a shocking 0 to 20 mph surge backwards, in a mere 2 seconds, as FireChaser heads back to the station in the opposite direction.
FireChaser Express animated coaster ride rests 12 stories above Dollywood’s Wilderness Pass and features three 14-passenger trains. Dollywood visitors should be happy to know the coaster's hourly rider capacity is 750 riders.
Heralded as a family ride attraction, the coaster ride does have 39 inch minimum height requirement. Much like rides throughout the Dollywood Theme Park, FireChaser Express has its own story and a unique set of Tennessee Smoky Mountain volunteers joined by volunteers such as yourself. A very interactive means to expand the riders experiences.
Be sure you're one of the volunteers called upon for this exciting adventure in the Tennessee Smokies.
